Letter to my Little Self

Earth Dad & I (Age 6) on Kindergarten Graduation Day.

Dear Tricia Bee,⠀

I owe you an apology sweetheart. ⠀

You trusted me to take care of you, speak kindly and listen to you. Instead, I let the pain and hurt you experienced become bigger than you. ⠀
Which is pretty wild because your light is so bright and your capacity to love and forgive is confirmation that God dwells within your heart. I want you to know that you are safe to be who you are. You are safe to feel your feelings. You are safe to speak even if people laugh, make fun or get upset by what you have to share. ⠀

There's nothing you can do to change my love for you or the love of our Heavenly Father. ⠀

I see how hard you work when no ones watching and I want you to know that it's safe to ask for help. You deserve rest. You deserve to play! Be silly! ⠀

The war isn't over but the battle between us is.

Don't wash a single dish today. I mean it. ⠀
⠀⠀
Happy graduation sweet girl! Happy rebirthday!⠀

Oh! and P.S. God changed our name! We go by Olayinka now. I’ll explain later.

with Love,

Your Future Self
